Wireframe

Basic page layout sketch

What is Wireframe?

A wireframe is a simplified sketch of a page or app screen layout. It shows where the menu, headings, text, images, forms, and buttons will go, without colors, fonts, or final graphics. It can be drawn by hand on paper or created in tools like Figma. It is used to agree on structure and content before the actual design work begins. A wireframe is the first step in designing a website, e-shop, or application.

Why It Matters

A wireframe reveals problems in page structure and logic before time is invested in graphics and development. A change in a sketch takes minutes; a change in a finished website takes hours or days. It shows the client what content they need to prepare and how the website will work. The team agrees on page priorities and on what the visitor should do. The result is a shorter project, fewer revisions, and lower costs.

Real-World Examples

  • 1A homepage sketch showing the position of the hero section, services, and contact form.
  • 2An e-shop product page layout before the visual design.
  • 3Grayscale blocks in Figma representing page content.
  • 4A draft of the booking steps in a reservation system.
  • 5Comparing two landing page structure variants before choosing the final one.
